The North end of the lake only picked up a dusting yesterday as the system slid a bit West and South of the area.
Temperatures are warming up pretty quickly this morning ahead of the storm approaching the coast, especially in the higher elevations. We will see sun and then some clouds today with temperatures up into the 30's to near 40. It is going to be a beautiful day on the slopes except for winds up top increasing to 30 mph and gusts to 45.
Dry and cold weather continues through Saturday. The systems are continuing to split off the coast causing all of the precip to stay to our North.
Happy New Year! The cold and dry pattern continues today as we wake up to single digit temperatures this morning. The sun will stick around through the end of the week and the cold will moderate slightly. Temperatures at the base will go up into the 30's starting today and then near 40 for the weekend.
Another inch of snow fell on the mountain in the past 24 hours from the very light snow showers.
We will have clouds today with a few flakes floating around. We may see some sun peek out later in the day.
Starting off with a cold morning here in Squaw Valley. We will see some sun and clouds today as a cut-off low spins down the CA coast. The track of the low pressure continues to be further offshore meaning less snowfall over the Sierra. We could see 1-2 inches tonight from snow showers and then tomorrow a few flakes with a dusting possible.
We picked up another 20 inches in the past 24 hours on the mountain from the current storm, and it's still snowing hard this morning. That brings the 5 day total to 82 inches, the 2 week total to 107 inches, and the season total to 240 inches. That is 53% of our seasonal average and we are only 5 days into Winter.
After another 18 inches of snow yesterday we now have a total of 5 feet on the mountain from the weekend. We are also now close to 50% of our total seasonal average at 220 inches.
Squaw picked up another 29 inches in the past 24 hours bringing the storm total to 39 inches and counting. The season total is now over 200 inches already and we are at 45% of the annual average up top 2 days into Winter.
Picked up a quick 6 inches yesterday afternoon and another 4 overnight. Then the heavy snow moved in around 7 a.m. and we are now over a foot of snow for the storm so far with lots more to come.
