Squaw Valley Submits Letter to Placer LAFCO regarding Concerns over the Olympic Valley Incorporation Proposal; Community Echoes Doubts

As an interested party to the Olympic Valley Incorporation proposal (IOV proposal), Andy Wirth, on behalf of Squaw Valley Ski Holdings, LLC (Squaw Valley), submitted a letter to Placer County’s Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) on April 7, 2014, urging the organization to carefully review the IOV proposal with special emphasis on the many economic issues and long-term liabilities that the new city would face.

Squaw to Host Tahoe Truckee Earth Day Festival

The 2014 Tahoe Truckee Earth Day Festival will once-again return to Squaw Valley Saturday, April 19. The free community event takes place in The Village at Squaw Valley from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and gives kids and adults the opportunity to learn about recycling, composting, alternative energy, and sustainability through hands-on activities the whole family can enjoy.

Squaw Valley Seeks All Things “Made in Tahoe”

Enrollment is now open for local businesses and talent to participate in the 2nd annual Made In Tahoe Festival – a two day event hosted in The Village at Squaw Valley that will showcase businesses, artisans, product designers, non-profit organizations and performers all hailing from the Tahoe region.

Squaw Valley Hosts Carbon Neutral U.S. Alpine Championships

Wednesday, March 19, 2014 - 3:15pm
Squaw Valley has partnered with the Sierra Business Council to host a carbon neutral U.S. Alpine Championship for the second year in a row. Squaw Valley became the first venue to host a carbon neutral U.S. Alpine Championships when the resort hosted the event last March.
