Skiers and riders can improve their skills at a discount

[Olympic Valley and Alpine Meadows, Calif.] March 12, 2013 –Skiers and riders can take their mountain experience to the next level with a little help from the pros at discounted prices now March 22. Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows Ski and Snowboard School are now offering all specialty clinics at a discounted rate of $49, plus demo equipment is 50 percent off for participants. Choose from a wide range of specialty clinics ranging from tackling the steep terrain or deep powder to becoming a master in the terrain park.

For those not ready to commit to a full-day lesson, get a free taste of how expert instruction can make your experience on the mountain better at Tuesday Tips at Squaw or Wednesday Tips at Alpine. Receive personalized feedback and experiment with skill-building exercises on terrain suited for your ability. 45 minutes of coaching with express lift access, lift ticket not included.

Jibs and Jumps
Offered Fridays at Squaw Valley through March 22 and Mondays at Alpine Meadows through March 18
Jibs and Jumps is an introduction to the playful realm of manmade and natural features: boxes, rails, tabletops, tree jibs, wind lips and more.  Whether on skis or a snowboard, this clinic will help skiers and riders learn to play all over the mountain and in the terrain parks with confidence, awareness and safety.  Open to strong intermediate and above adult (13 +) riders and skiers who are either just starting out in the park or looking for some coaching to take their skills to the next level.

Squaw Valley’s Chutes and Hikes
Offered Mondays at Squaw Valley through March 18
This clinic helps the advanced and expert skier/rider get the most out of Squaw’s legendary expert terrain.  Access and conquer the steep lines and drops Squaw is famous for. Find the best snow conditions and “secret” lines only the locals know.  Using a high energy tactical approach, skiers/riders are encouraged to learn through self-discovery in a fast-paced environment. As conditions permit, groups will hike the Palisades, Mainline Pocket and Granite Peak, and explore the cliffs and chutes of Silverado, KT-22 and other nooks and crannies of the mountain not found on the trail map.

Alpine Excursions
Offered Fridays at Alpine Meadows through March 22
Explore Alpine Meadows’ legendary back bowls, trees and chutes. Alpine’s guides will show skiers and riders the easiest routes to the best skiing and riding Alpine has to offer and provide tips on how to ski whatever type of conditions are encountered along the way.

Vintage Squaw
Offered Thursdays at Squaw Valley through March 21
For skiers who have skied all their lives or those that joined the sport late in life, this clinic is designed for skiers ages 55 and up. Vintage Squaw combines quality skiing, great instruction, and group camaraderie with exercises paced to specific needs. Participants meet at 8:30 a.m. for coffee and tea, tech talks, and team building; skiing begins at 9:30 a.m. and goes until noon.

Adventure 55 at Alpine Meadows
Offered Tuesdays at Alpine Meadows through March 19
For the active, mature adult, this program offers the opportunity to ski with peers and pick up a few tips from Alpine’s veteran instructors. Designed as a social ski experience, skiers will improve technique while making new friends.

For Women, By Women at Alpine Meadows
Clinic offered every Thursday and Sunday through March 21
Guests will ski with Alpine’s top female pros who will inspire them to take their skiing to the next level. Alpine’s women’s programs are the perfect opportunity for women to meet other like-minded women who are passionate about the snow. This clinic is also offered as a single day program or three-day camp.

Women of Winter at Squaw Valley
Clinics offered at every Wednesday at Squaw Valley through March 20
For women who love to ski, this program is designed to improve and challenge black diamond skiing. Squaw’s top pros share their energy, passion, and devotion to coaching this clinic so participants can take their skiing to the next level and ski Squaw's legendary terrain like they own it.  Designed for advanced to expert abilities, these programs provide a fun and supportive environment where skiers become better skiers as they laugh with friends old and new.
