The snow began falling on the mountain this evening and will continue overnight and through the day on Monday. The storm will be bringing in colder air and up to a foot of fluffy snow on the mountain.
The heaviest snow will fall tonight into Monday morning and then taper to snow showers that could last into Monday evening. Expecting to pick up 3-6 inches on the mountain by morning and another 3-6 inches during the day on Monday. Storm totals by Monday night should be around 4-8 inches at the base and 8-12 inches up top. Maybe an inch or two more at the summit.
The next storm will drop down from the North on Wednesday. The track is still uncertain as this is a compact little storm and a jog West or East could mean a little more or less snowfall. Right now we have the chance of a few more inches if the storm drops down over Tahoe.
Next weekend is still uncertain with the forecast models showing anything from a couple feet to a few inches from a storm dropping down the West Coast. The question again will be the track of the storm down the coast. If it's over land we would see much less snow but if it stays along the coast it could bring in more precip off the ocean. We will keep you up to date. BA
