Snow levels have come down to lake level this morning but the moisture has stopped ahead of the approaching cold front.
The forecast models are strangely at odds on total precip for being within 24hours of a system and it being a weak one. The NAM is really dry with just a dusting through Sunday while the Euro has up to 10 inches of snow on the mountain. The GFS is middle of the road and matches my forecast from the last few days so I'm sticking with it for now. 2-4 inches at the base and 3-6 inches on the mountain through Sat. night through Sun. night.
This will be light powder with highs tomorrow only in the 20's. The snow will be light but the heaviest snow showers look to fall during the day Sunday.
Another wave tries to drop down the coast on Monday with more snow but the ridge starts to push towards the CA coast and it looks like the snow will reach the Northern CA border and then slide down to our East over Nevada.
The cold air sticks around through Tuesday and then the ridge begins to build along the West Coast and temperatures start to climb into the 40s for the second half of the week.
The next system may move in as soon as next Sunday with another storm possible around the 5th. We have been expecting a couple of storms the week of the 4th, so we may just start a day early. BA
