Snow in the Forecast Through Thursday 3/1 /

Submitted by ba February 26, 2012 - 4:15pm Weather

Clouds are already on the increase from a weak storm that will move through on Monday. There is not much moisture with this system but the cold air associated with it will help to fluff the totals. Expecting 1-3 inches at the base and 2-4 inches up top by Monday night.

Then things get a little more exciting. The next storm moves in late Tuesday night into the day on Wednesday. This one has a lot more moisture to work with as well as cold air. The heaviest snow will fall during the day on Wednesday with snow showers lasting into Wednesday night. Total snowfall from this storm looks to be around 8-14 inches at the base and 14-23 inches at the summit.

There will be another weak storm diving in quickly on Thursday behind this system. We could see another 2-5 inches on the mountain. That could put us at 10-20 inches for the week by Friday at the base and 18-32 inches at the summit. I will update daily as the storm gets closer.

On Friday high pressure builds in and we will have a sunny weekend with temperatures quickly rebounding into the 30's and 40's.

Next week looks like it could be quiet as a series of storms hitting the Pacific NW stay just to our North. Hoping we can get the storms further South to continue the snowfall.  Update by Tuesday.  BA
