We picked up a foot of new snow overnight and it has been snowing most of the day. It looks like we have picked up another 6 inches here at the base today during the day.
The snow showers and cold air will hang around through Saturday with only a few more inches of snow accumulation expected. We will have a brief break Sunday through the early part of next week with some sunshine, but the temperatures will remain on the cool side in the 40’s.
The next weather system will not be too far behind. We are tracking another storm that will come down the West Coast next week. Right now it looks as if the storm will stay off the coast avoiding us until it pushes inland towards the end of next week. That may just prime the atmosphere as we are tracking the potential for a significant storm system to bring snow the weekend of the 17th. It is too early to talk about snow amounts just yet, but stay tuned through next week because as we come closer, confidence will build and the details will become more clear.
We have a nice base started already in combination with snowmaking. Let’s hope we can get a big storm in here before opening day on the 21st, weather and conditions permitting.
