A Foot of Fresh Snow /

Submitted by ba January 11, 2013 - 9:13am Weather

Squaw Valley picked up another 5 inches on the mountain in the past 24 hours.  That brings the 2 day storm total to a foot of snow.

The snow was associated with a strong cold front that has ushered in some of the coldest air so far this season.  We are not expecting high temperatures to get out of the 20's through Monday.  We could see some snow showers over the next few days but it should be mostly sunny through the weekend.

Next week the ridge of high pressure builds in over the West Coast and we will have warming temperatuers.  Highs should get up into the 30's and even the 40's by the end of next week.

The ridge over the West Coast will keep us dry for the next couple of weeks.  It will be beautiful weather to get outside.  We will continue to watch for the next pattern change back to stormy weather.  Right now it looks like that could happen the last week of January.  Stay tuned...BA
