After the 3 inches we measured Sunday morning we are now up to 5 feet of snow for the season at High Camp. Thanks to a cold December and low sun angle much of the snow has held well on the North facing slopes. It also allowed us to make lots of snow on top of the natural snow.
The high pressure ridge has parked itself along the entire West Coast this week and it looks like that may hold through next week as well. That will keep the skies sunny through the extended period.
All of the long-range forecast models show the ridge moving to a position near the Aleutian Islands by the end of the month. This is the most agreement they have had in the long-range in quite a while. That's still a little far out to get too excited, but if they are right the storm door would open towards the end of the month into February.
