The snow pushed in around 8 p.m. last night, a little earlier than expected. At the 5:30 a.m. measurement Squaw had 7 inches, and Alpine 8 inches up top. That is ahead of pace as the snow is expected to continue through this evening. It may lighten mid-day and then pick up again this evening as the center of low pressure moves inland over CA.
The forecast models over night continued to show the potential for up to 15 inches on the mountain by Saturday morning. We seem to be on pace for that. We could see another 4-8 inches on the mountain through this evening. In the village another inch or two could fall this evening after the sun goes down.
The snow should taper off around midnight. Saturday we clear out but it will be cold. A great last powder day! On Sunday another system moving by to our North will increase clouds and we could see some light snow showers on the mountains.
