Halloween is a favorite holiday of mine. Not only because it’s the one time of the year you can get away with eating an abundance of candy and sweets, but you can embody your favorite character for one night (or the whole weekend!). Not to mention, Halloween is a clear indicator that winter is fast approaching and making turns is in your future. This year some of the local hot spots in the Valley will be hosting a fabulous party in honor of this spooky holiday. The Cornice Cantina will be putting on their Annual Monster Mash Halloween Party on Saturday, October 29th. A DJ and plenty of dancing will be had until the wee hours of the night. A costume contest is sure to bring laughs and the competive spirit. The Chammy (Le Chamois) will be hosting their annual Halloween Costume & Dance Party on Monday October 31st, the true day of Hallows Eve. Doors will open at 8pm and the kids can even do some trick-or-treating until 9pm. After that, you’ll need your ID to read you were born before 1990 (21 and over please). And don't forget your spit-shined dancing shoes. This celebration also marks the opening night for the Chammy for the 2011-12 season.Don’t just go for the cliché packaged Halloween costume. Get creative! We heard last year someone dressed up as a house plant to the Chammy party. What will you be this Halloween? Guess we’ll see you there! The Word: If you come into the Valley on the Monday of Halloween, you’ll see some snow on the hill. We’ll be testing the snow guns!
