Andy Wirth

President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Wirth has served as President and CEO since July 2010 and has more than 25 years in the mountain resort and hospitality management industry. Mr. Wirth came to Squaw from Vancouver based Intrawest ULC where he served as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Prior to his work in the ski industry, Mr. Wirth was a backcountry ranger in Rocky Mountain National Park and wildland firefighter on an initial attack Hot Shot crew and a Wilderness Ranger in New Mexico.  Wirth’s awards include the 2002 Steamboat Springs Business Leader of the Year Award and the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority’s 2012 Outstanding Service Award. An active community leader, Mr. Wirth currently serves as Chairman and President of Lake Tahoe Winter Olympic Committee Board of Directors and a member of the Board of Directors for the Tahoe Fund, the Board of Directors of the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, the Board of Directors of the Friends of Squaw Creek, and the Board of Directors of the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association.



Chevis Hosea

Vice President of Development

Mr. Hosea was appointed Vice President of Development in July 2011. Previously, Mr. Hosea served as Vice President of various other KSL development entities. During his 19-year tenure with the company, Mr. Hosea managed over $600 million in new resort development including over 300 fairway homes, 350 condo hotel units, over 1,000 fairway lots, golf courses, award-winning spas, ballrooms, retail, restaurants and other related resort amenities. Prior to joining KSL, Mr. Hosea served as development asset manager for resort/recreational real estate assets, successfully managing over $1 billion in world-class assets.  Mr. Hosea has more than 30 years experience in the approval, design, construction and management of world-class recreational development projects.



Christy Beck

General Manager of The Village at Squaw Valley

Ms. Beck was appointed General Manager of The Village at Squaw Valley in November 2009. Previously, Ms. Beck worked for six years at The Resort at Squaw Creek as Tour and Travel Sales Manager and Group Sales Manager – earning Top Performing Sales Manager two years in a row. Ms. Beck was recruited by Intrawest in 2001 to open The Village at Squaw Valley as the Director of Sales and Marketing before being appointed to her current position following Squaw Valley’s acquisition of The Village. Ms. Beck currently serves as the chairman of the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association Lodging Committee and as a board member of the Squaw Village Neighborhood Company.



Deb Stansell

Director of Resort Activity Sales and Services

Ms. Stansell was appointed Director of Resort Activity Sales and Services in May 2011, bringing over 30 years of resort operations experience, including guest relations, front line sales, product development, and training.  Previously, Ms. Stansell worked as Director of Resort Activity Sales and Services for Vail Resorts at Northstar at Tahoe where she oversaw sales locations for Adult and Children’s Ski and Board School, season passes and lift tickets, Village Ski and Board Rental, and the Ritz-Carlton True North location. Prior to that, Ms. Stansell works as Director of Business Solutions for Booth Creek Ski Holdings, developing consistent policies, procedures, and security for resort points of sale for the company’s six resorts. Prior to joining Booth Creek Ski Holdings, Deb enjoyed a 20-year career with Vail Resorts, was Director of Product Sales and Service for Vail Mountain, and managed the development of best practices for four other resorts.



Dee Byrne

Managing Director of the Ski and Snowboard School

Ms. Byrne was appointed Managing Director of the Ski and Snowboard School in January 2011. She joined the company from Aspen/Snowmass where she served as the Business Manager for the resorts’ ski and snowboard schools. Prior to Aspen/Snowmass, Ms. Byrne served for eight years as the Director of Vail Snowsports School.  Ms. Byrne is well-known as one of the ski-industry’s leaders in managing high-volume ski and snowboard schools for North America’s premier resorts, and she has over 38 years of experience in the ski instruction industry. Ms. Byrne’s industry credentials include a PSIA Level III Certification, two terms on the PSIA National Alpine Demonstration Team, and six years on the PSIA National Education Advisory Council. In addition to managing the Ski and Snowboard Schools of both Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, Ms. Byrne currently sits on the Olympic Valley Freestyle Team Board of Directors.



Mike DeGroff

Vice President of Resort Services

Mr. DeGroff was appointed Vice President of Resort Services in September 2011. Mr. DeGroff joined the company from Steamboat Ski Resort, where he served as the Vice President of Resort Services. In Colorado, Mr. DeGroff formerly served at the President of the Gondola Square Commercial HOA, President of the Steamboat Springs Youth Soccer Association, and Co-Chair of three women’s Alpine World Cup ski racing events. Mr. DeGroff was also responsible for the implementation of the recycling program at Steamboat Springs, and most recently the resort’s composting program, the combination of which reduced the resort’s solid waste by ¾ (from 475 tons to 125 tons). With over 30 years in the resort services industry, Mr. DeGroff has extensive experience in culinary services, retail operations and ski and snowboard rental and demo departments.



Mike Livak

Executive Vice President

Mike Livak was appointed Executive Vice President in 2009. He grew up skiing at Squaw and other local resorts.  Following college, Livak worked on the snow for Squaw Valley as a certified level III ski instructor, ski school supervisor, and staff trainer from 1990-1998.  He earned an MBA with honors and an emphasis in Finance and Marketing from UC Davis in 1998.  Thereafter, Livak performed a variety of management functions at Squaw Valley including Director of Marketing and Administration, Director of Planning, and Vice-President.  He played an integral role in the negotiation and development of the Village at Squaw Valley condominium and commercial real estate project. Livak served on the Board of Directors of the Squaw Valley Development Company and Squaw Valley Ski Corporation from 1998 to 2009.  From 2005 until 2009 Livak served as Project Manager and Senior VP of Royal Gorge, LLC, where he led the project design and entitlement effort for a 950-unit, mixed-use mountain resort subdivision concept, and operated North America’s largest cross country ski resort, two mountain hotels, and two restaurants.  Over the years, Mike’s community service has included roles with the Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation grants committee, and founding membership in the Friends of Squaw Creek.



Monty Waugh

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Waugh was appointed Chief Financial Offer in December 2010. Previously, Mr. Waugh served as the Vice President of Accounting and Finance for Booth Creek Ski Holdings, Inc., which included Northstar at Tahoe.  Prior to that, Mr. Waugh was the Regional Controller for Intrawest’s west coast real estate development group, which included the Intrawest real estate development at Squaw Valley and Mammoth Lakes among other properties.  Prior to Intrawest, Mr. Waugh worked as an auditor for Ernst & Young, where he gained his CPA license in 2000.



Scott Swietanski

Vice President of Operations

Mr. Swietanski was appointed Vice President of Operations of Alpine Meadows Ski Resort in December 2011. Prior to that, Mr. Swietanski served as the Regional Director of Mountain Operations for Alpine Meadows Ski Resort and Homewood Mountain Resort under JMA Alpine Manager LLC. With a specialized degree in Ski Area Operations from Colorado Mountain College, Mr. Swietanski has extensive mountain operations experience, including backgrounds in lift maintenance, lift mechanics and lift construction.
