The first system this week will bring in light snowfall Tuesday night. Latest forecast model runs show an inch or two for the mountain.
The next system moves through Thursday and it looks like we could see similar light amounts as the first system.
The third system may move in next weekend and this one could be the strongest. Some forecast models show it staying just to our North, but the majority show it coming further South with 6+ inches possible on the mountain.
It looks like the ridge of high pressure will build back in off the coast for week 2 bringing another dry week.
Looking at the long-range the European forecast model has a weak trough around the 18th with a weak system. The GFS forecast model has a large storm approaching the coast by the 20th. The climate models become much wetter starting the 20th as well.
To recap: week 1 3 weak systems bringing light snowfall, week 2 dry weather returns, week 3 potentially some larger storms.
Let's hope the storms this week produce more snow than forecasted and the return of storms is sooner than expected. Stay tuned...BA
